I have only on minor point in response to the comment by Dr. Kanji. The difference in measured ns for kaolinite particles may not be only due to the different experimental methods used but more likely due to the application of polydisperse kaolinite particles by Kanji et al.
For this reason I suggest to change
"The difference may be related to different experimental technique; however, further speculation concerning this issue is beyond the remit of this study and is not pertinent to the major conclusions drawn from the comparison of our experimental results obtained using the CFDC."
to
"The difference may be related to different experimental technique or application of polydisperse kaolinite aerosol particles; however, further speculation concerning this issue is beyond the remit of this study and is not pertinent to the major conclusions drawn from the comparison of our experimental results obtained using the CFDC."
