Short summary
To investigate the impact of ice nuclei (IN) activated by dust aerosols on precipitation over China, a new mechanism for online aerosol activation of IN has been embedded in the Global/Regional Assimilation and Prediction System-China Meteorological Administration Unified Atmospheric Chemistry Environment, which is used to examine the effects of these processes during a typical dust-affected precipitation event in East Asia.
