Short summary
This study analyzes the spatial and temporal trends of Antarctic fast ice extent from 2000 to 2018. We also investigate the physical processes through which mid- and low-latitude sea surface temperature anomalies affect fast ice via atmospheric planetary waves, along with seasonal variations in climate forcing mechanisms.
