Short summary
Measurements in Lhasa show that new airborne particles formed on most observation days. They were more frequent during the autumn campaign than during the spring campaign and were linked to increases in particles that can help form clouds. The findings improve our understanding of how city air may affect clouds and climate in high-altitude regions.
