Short summary
Severe air pollution over the North China Plain has posed significant threats to human health. Emerging evidence highlights the vital role of vertical pollutant transport in influencing surface air quality. In this study, we summarized the vertical profiles of key pollutants based on aircraft surveys up to 4000 m. The influence of regional transport on the vertical distribution patterns was analyzed, offering essential data for evaluating the impact of aloft pollutants on surface air quality.
