Short summary
We investigated how plants, pollution and weather shape air quality at a forested mountain in southeastern China, with frequent clouds. We measured compounds formed as plant and human emissions react in the atmosphere. Warm conditions favored plant emissions, while cooler periods increased the influence of pollution transported from other regions. Clouds both removed some compounds and changed others through chemical reactions, showing how weather and clouds shape air quality in mountains.
