Short summary

This study evaluates three numerical simulations performed with an isotope-enabled weather forecast model and investigates the coupling between shallow trade-wind cumulus clouds and atmospheric circulations on different scales. We show that the simulations reproduce key characteristics of shallow trade-wind clouds as observed during the field experiment EUREC⁴A and that the spatial distribution of stable-water-vapour isotopes is shaped by the overturning circulation associated with these clouds.
