Short summary
This study is one of the first that seeks to understand the microphysical effects of biomass burning aerosols from the Amazon Basin on mesoscale convective systems over the La Plata Basin (and neighboring regions). We observed an important link between biomass burning aerosols from the Amazon Basin on mesoscale convective systems over the La Plata Basin throughout numerical simulations. This result is an important step toward the understanding of biomass burning impacts in the Amazon.
